All the same you can’t seem to stop,

Ripples flow through the river,
And the water washes over you,
Stuck always in the middle,
With the same empty truths,

So much for love and purity,
But the truth sometimes hurts,
You’re left in your minds bitter sanctuary,
Growing darker with each thought,

Broken chains,
That bound together,
Fall apart,
Like broken feathers,
Your eyes are dry now,
You’ve managed to stop the tears now,
But what about the bleeding,
Discretely seeping,
Behind your eyes,
That now seem so dry…

Sea laps at the sandy shore,
You don’t know what to do anymore,
Yesterday you thought you had it all,

A trickle seeps through the cracks,
You wish you could have it all back,
So you could do it over again,
Just to prevent what happens next…
