Literature Text

I’ll lay it out,
I’ll lay it out in black and white,
Plain to see before your eyes,
No more riddles, and rhymes,
I’m finished walking the line,
I’m only who they want me to be,
I’m only who they think they see,
I’m so used to being their me,
I don’t know what’s real,

Even when I push back the curtain,
I never really know for certain,
All the pieces are broken,
Leaving me un-determined,

I don’t know who I am,
Just who I’m supposed to be,
Like a broken record,
Viciously cycling,
I’m running through the maze,
Clutching blindly,
Hoping…I’ll find me,

I’m running around asking,
But no-one knows the answer I’m searching,
They don’t think I should be changing,
But really I’m just shaking,
Off the change,
Want to be in control of my brain,
This discovery is driving me insane,
How can I break these chains?

Even when I push back the curtain,
I never really know for certain,
All the pieces are broken,
Leaving me un-determined,

I don’t know who I am,
Just who I’m supposed to be,
Like a broken record,
Viciously cycling,
I’m running through the maze,
Clutching blindly,
Hoping…I’ll find me,

Maybe if I make it to the end,
I’ll find myself…
Meh, wrote this, this morning...
